Loxworth Capital is scaling up its portfolio of large-scale hydroponic blueberry farms across SADC. As part of this expansion, we are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead daily operations at one of our sites in the region.
Your Role
As Production Manager, you will oversee all operational activities from planting through to harvest. You will play a critical leadership role in a technology-enabled, collaborative environment, managing people, processes, and production to ensure top-tier quality and yield. This is a hands-on, data-informed role for someone who thrives in high-performance, high-growth settings and embraces the use of digital tools and AI platforms to drive efficiency and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Farm Management: Oversee daily operations across planting, growing, and harvesting.
- Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and motivate seasonal and permanent staff.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain export-grade quality through strict protocols.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Analyse production data using digital tools and AI platforms to improve efficiency and yields.
- Sustainability: Optimise use of water, nutrients, and equipment in line with ESG goals.
- Health & Safety: Promote a safe and compliant work environment.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with agronomy, technology, and export departments to deliver seamless operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing large-scale agricultural operations.
- Strong leadership, planning, and team-building skills.
- Experience in hydroponics, protected cropping, or soft fruit farming preferred.
- Familiarity with digital tools and AI-based systems for decision-making and reporting.
- A collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English; additional regional languages an advantage.
- Willingness to relocate to one of our operational or expansion sites across the SADC region.
