As part of our strategic expansion and localisation drive, we are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven professional to lead the development and execution of key industrial and operational initiatives.

The Role

BBN invites applications for the position of Head of Industrial Development and Operations, a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end development, implementation, and optimisation of industrial production systems and operational infrastructure.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in localising production capabilities, enhancing supply chain efficiency and delivering large-scale capital projects that support the company’s growth and export objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of local manufacturing initiatives, including packaging production (lugs/trays) to replace imports;
  • Develop and execute industrial project plans, including process design, equipment sourcing, and facility setup;
  • Prepare detailed CAPEX, OPEX, and cash flow models, as well as bankable business plans for investment decision-making;
  • Establish and implement robust operational systems, including SOPs, process flows, and performance frameworks;
  • Introduce and oversee Quality Management Systems (QMS) and continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S;
  • Develop and manage integrated supply chains supporting production, harvesting, packaging, and export logistics;
  • Lead commissioning, industrialisation and handover of projects to operational teams;
  • Help identify, recruit and train local talent, ensuring effective skills transfer and capacity development;
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities and ensure alignment with strategic expansion plans;
  • Provide regular progress reports and ensure compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related discipline) or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant Executive Senior experience in industrial operations, engineering project development, logistics, or large-scale production environments;
  • Proven experience in capital project execution, including facility setup and operationalisation;
  • Strong background in process design, supply chain management, and quality systems implementation;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop financial models and business plans for large-scale projects;
  • Experience in agriculture, agri-processing, or export-oriented production environments will be an added advantage.
