Job Purpose

To establish and manage beehives to support effective pollination of blueberry crops. The role includes setting up hives from scratch, maintaining healthy colonies, and ensuring bees are active during the flowering season.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and manage honeybee hives for blueberry pollination.
• Monitor bee health and apply basic treatments if needed.
• Coordinate hive placement to match the crop’s flowering periods.
• Maintain equipment (hives, suits, smokers, etc.).
• Plan and plant basic forage areas near the hives to support bee nutrition.
• Follow national guidelines for beekeeping and hive movement.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of practical beekeeping experience.
• Experience setting up hives from scratch.
• Knowledge of bee health and basic pest/disease treatment.
• Able to work independently in remote, rural conditions.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• English required; local language skills a plus.
• Valid driver’s licence preferred.
